Pause, resume and reschedule a campaign
Stop a campaign at once, start it again now or at a set time, change its settings while paused, and move a single scheduled email.
You can pause a campaign at any moment. Nothing more goes out until you resume it. Emails that were due while it was paused go out once it runs again.
Pause
Step 1: Open the campaign and click Pause
Click Campaigns in the sidebar, then the campaign. Click Pause at the top. The note says Campaign paused. Nothing more goes out until you resume it.
You can also pause straight from the campaign list: each running campaign has a Pause button on its row.
- 11: Pause
- 22: Resume…
Resume
Step 2: Click Resume…
On a paused campaign, click Resume…. A small form opens under Resume sending.
Step 3: Choose when
- Now, in the next sending window: it starts again during the campaign’s sending hours.
- At: pick a date and time, up to 3 months ahead.
Click Resume. Later follow-ups keep their gaps in days.

Change a campaign
Step 4: Change only the wording: no pause needed
Open the Sequence tab and click Edit emails. Change any email, or add a follow-up, then click Save sequence. Emails that haven’t gone out yet use the new wording.
Step 5: Change the settings: pause first
Mailboxes, schedule and pace change only while the campaign is paused. Click Edit on a running campaign and Mailpitcher offers Pause and edit. Or choose Edit emails only to change just the wording.
Make your changes, then click Save and resume (or Save changes and resume later).
Move one email
Step 6: Reschedule one person’s email from the project board
If the campaign belongs to a project, open the project. A card with emails waiting shows a chip like 1 scheduled. Click it to see each waiting email, then:
- Reschedule: pick a new time and click Set.
- Cancel: drop that email.
- Edit pitch: opens the campaign editor.
- 11: The scheduled chip on a card
- 22: Reschedule, Cancel or Edit pitch
Good to know
- Paused automatically? The reason is shown at the top in red, for example a high bounce rate or sending dates that have passed. Fix it, then resume. See Replies, bounces and do-not-contact.
- Delete cancels everything queued and removes the campaign’s stats. Emails already sent stay in your Sent folders.
- If your plan ends, running campaigns pause and scheduled emails are cancelled. Your campaigns stay.
