Shown as in a light mail app.
How to use it
- Pick a layout. The thumbnails update with your own details as you type.
- Fill in what you want shown. Only your name is needed; leave the rest blank to skip it.
- For a photo or logo, paste the address of an image that's already online (https).
- Choose an accent colour and font, then check the preview in light and dark mode.
- Click "Copy signature" and paste it into your mail app's signature settings (steps below).
Why it's built with tables
Outlook on Windows draws email with Word's layout engine, which ignores most modern CSS. A signature made of small tables with inline styles and fixed pixel sizes is what reliably looks the same in Outlook, Gmail and Apple Mail. Rounded corners are the one thing Outlook on Windows skips: there the photo shows square.
Dark mode
Mail apps in dark mode recolour text and backgrounds themselves. The generator leaves your name without a colour outside the grey box, so it follows the reader's theme, and uses mid-grey and your accent colour for the rest, which stay readable on both. The grey box keeps its own colours, as most apps keep a painted background.
Images and icons
Nothing is uploaded: the generator runs in your browser. Your photo stays wherever it's hosted, and the social icons are small images on mailpitcher.com, so recipients' mail apps can load them. Some apps hide images until the reader allows them; every image has alt text, so the signature still reads well.
Add it to Gmail
On a computer: Settings (gear icon), See all settings, then the Signature section. Create a new signature, paste, and click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. Gmail allows up to 10,000 characters. In the Gmail app on a phone, leave Mobile Signature turned off: without one, the app uses the signature you set up on your computer.
Add it to Outlook
New Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web: Settings (gear icon), Accounts, Signatures, Add signature, give it a name, paste, choose whether it goes on new messages and on replies, and Save. Classic Outlook for Windows: in a new message choose Signature, then Signatures, pick the account, New, paste into Edit signature, and OK.
Add it to Apple Mail
On a Mac: Mail, Settings, Signatures. Select the account, click the + button, name the signature and paste into the preview on the right. If the fonts change after pasting, untick "Always match my default message font".
Questions people ask
Is this email signature generator free?
Yes. There's no sign-up and no watermark, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
Why does my photo not show in the preview?
The image address has to start with https:// and point straight at the picture (usually ending in .jpg or .png). A link to a web page or a photo album won't work.
Will the signature look the same in Outlook?
Yes, apart from rounded corners: Outlook on Windows shows the photo square. Layout, sizes, colours and links stay the same because they're written the way Outlook reads them.
How do I add it to Gmail?
Copy the signature, then in Gmail on a computer open Settings, See all settings, scroll to Signature, create one, paste and click Save Changes.
Can I get the HTML code?
Yes. "Copy HTML" gives you the code, for apps or tools that take a signature as HTML.
How many social icons should I add?
Two or three you actually use. Each one is another image to load, and another place people might go instead of replying.
