Make Mailpitcher look the way you like. These choices are kept in the browser you set them in.

Light or dark

Step 1: Open the account menu

Click your email address at the bottom left of the sidebar.

Step 2: Pick Auto, Light or Dark

Under Appearance, click Auto, Light or Dark. Auto follows your computer or phone: light by day, dark at night if your system does that.

Click your email address at the bottom left to open this menu.

  2. 2: Settings, plan and usage

Step 3: Open Settings, Appearance

In the same menu, click Settings, plan and usage. Then click Appearance in the list on the left.

Step 4: Choose a mode, a font and a scheme

  • Mode: Auto, Light or Dark, as above.
  • Font: System, Reading, Rounded, Neue or Mono. Each button is written in its own font.
  • Color scheme: click a scheme to use it straight away. Each one has a light and a dark version.

Step 5: Change one part at a time

Under Custom colors, each row is one part of the app: Accent (buttons), Background, Panels, Sidebar, Text, Selection, Unread dot and Highlight (stars and badges).

Click the colour square to pick a colour, or type a hex code like #1f5fd6. The app changes as you go. Changed rows are marked changed.

You edit the palette for the mode you are in. To change the dark colours too, switch Mode to Dark and edit again.

Step 6: Check it stays readable

Mailpitcher checks the contrast as you go. If text or buttons become hard to read, a note says which, and by how much.

Step 7: Start over

Click Reset to (the scheme’s name) to drop your custom colours for this mode.
